I have heard a lot of peoples opinions on this, however I am curious what other people use. I generally use the improved clinch, but sometimes tie the palomar knot.

Mahem, thanks for joining the forum! My favorite knot is the standard clinch knot. It is so fast and easy that it’s hard to beat. I really like the fact that you can remove it quickly without cutting it as well. I made this video a couple years ago that will show you what I mean by that. I have found that the improved clinch knot does not seem to add any extra strength to the knot. In reality, you could ask 5 people what knot they use and you would probably get at least 3 different answers. Everyone has their own way of doing things. I would personally use whatever knot you are good at tying and have confidence in. Take care, dub

Thanks Dub, For some reason I have not used the standard clinch knot very much. I’ll have to give it a fair shake. It sure is fast to tie, theres no doubt about that.
